Creation Care Conference
Dordt College, Northwestern College, and the Center for Public Justice are the primary sponsors of a conference on October 26-27, 2007 on the theme of Caring for the Environment: Putting Biblical Principles into Practice. At 7:00 PM on October 26, at Dordt College, Dr. Cal DeWitt, a world renowned Christian environmental scientist, will be giving the keynote address on the topic, "The Bible and the Environment: Biblical Teachings on Creation Care."
From 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 27, at Northwestern College, five sessions will be held in which panelists from northwest Iowa will provide examples of their good local environmental practices meant to inspire and motivate more good local practices, in the categories of individuals & families, churches, schools, business and service organizations, and agriculture.
The concluding address, delivered by Dr. DeWitt at Northwestern College and titled "My Town: How We Transformed Ourselves into an Environmental Stewardship Community," will address ways in which local government can foster environmental responsibility. Based on his experiences in the small town of Dunn, Wisconsin, the address will begin at 3:30 PM on October 27.
