Stephanie Summers Appointed Chief Operating Officer

The Center for Public Justice is delighted to announce the appointment of Stephanie Summers as its Chief Operating Officer, starting Dec. 1, 2009.

Ms. Summers most recently served as Vice President for Organizational Development with the Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO), a Christian campus ministry organization. In this capacity she directed organization-wide strategic improvement and change initiatives. During her 12-year tenure with the CCO, Ms. Summers was responsible for expansion of the organization to the Washington, D.C. region and held several key leadership positions, including Vice President for the Eastern Region and Area Director for Washington, D.C., Southwestern Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

Ms. Summers began her career as Executive Director of The Open Door, a church-based youth center in Pittsburgh, Pa. She received a bachelor’s degree in English from Kenyon College and a master’s degree in nonprofit management from Eastern University. Ms. Summers chairs the board of The McIlvaine Fund, an alumni group supporting CCO campus ministry at Kenyon College. She also serves as a thesis advisor for the graduate program in nonprofit management at Eastern University.
