2003 Leadership Award

 

Dr. Carol Lee Hamrin
Senior China Research Specialist

The Center for Public Justice honored Dr. Carol Lee Hamrin with the 2003 Leadership Award in recognition of her for her many years of outstanding public service -- notably for her 25-year career (1975-2000) at the U.S. Department of State as the Senior China Research Specialist. The plaque presented to Dr. Hamrin recognized her as a Scholar, Teacher, Public Servant working to advance human rights and religious freedom and to help strengthen the church and the institutions of civil society in China.

 The event was held on April 10, 2003, in Arlington, VA.

The Center also recognized the service work of the Yiezhi Village Project, a project of a nongovernmental organization, for its efforts to build places of education and worship for poor children in China's mountainous regions in Yunnan Province.
