Intern for CPJ

Internship Opportunities In Alexandria, VA

CPJ offers paid in-person internships for undergraduate and graduate students (remote interns may be considered on a case-by-case basis). This formative educational experience encourages interns’ professional, spiritual, and intellectual development at the intersection of faith, public policy, and justice.

Each intern works directly with one of our teams:

  • Advocacy
  • Communications
  • Development
  • Research
  • Shared Justice

Interns participate in a weekly educational seminar — Public Justice 101 — to learn the historical and theological underpinnings of a public justice perspective. CPJ offers fall, spring, and summer internships to undergraduate, graduate, seminary, and law students.

Summer Deadline: March 30

Because many students complete an internship with CPJ as a part of a DC semester program, CPJ offers flexible start and end dates for internships that fit with the student’s program. Summer internships will run from roughly May – August.

We also understand that students may be juggling classes and vocational seminars during their internships. We work to create a work plan with our interns for 20-40 hours of work per week depending on the student’s schedule.

We will start accepting applications for Summer in January 2025. Students are welcome to request an application and start working on it before then.
